  Hi! Thank you for visiting my shop. I am a professional studio jeweler by day (NISA Jewelry), but in my "free" time, I love to dabble in just about all other mediums, including clay. My sweetie is a potter who specializes in fine etched porcelain, and he turned me on to the sgraffito technique (ie. etching clay). Being very detail-oriented, I was dissatisfied with the chunky, heavy, or dull tools that I was finding, and so I began making my own sgraffito tools that are both functional, comfortable, AND aesthetically pleasing. 

   I use silky bamboo for the handles, and design each tool individually with a pattern that I burn in by hand. The tools are coated with non-toxic, natural tung oil, which keeps the moisture out and the handles strong. The tips are all high quality steel, and will last many many years if taken care of properly. Lastly, each tool is finished with a sterling silver NISA logo (I am a jeweler, after all).
